Paired women's ENAM African Beads, Handmade from Recycled Glass for Jewellery

Powder glass African beads, made by the people of Krobo Mountain (Ghana, West Africa), reproducing old Venetian FANCY trade beads. Made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then poured into moulds in order to create these nice looking drum shaped beads. Decorations on the beads are made with a paste made of coloured glass powder and water, which is applied using a thin wooden stalk. They are cooked a second time to fix the decor. The beads are handmade.
